Ulrichstein is located in Vogelsberg in close proximity to the Taufstein and Hoherodskopf. The Vogelsberg is a low mountain range in Hesse and is considered the largest enclosed basalt massif in Europe. Due to its proximity to the two highest peaks in the Vogelsberg, the Taufstein and the Hoherodskopf, Ulrichstein is the highest town in Hesse. Around Ulrichstein there is a very beautiful trail, as can be seen in the pictures and videos.
This trail is about 11 km away from the Hoherodskopf. It is a round trail, which is called farsightedness tour. The tour is not called for no reason so, because along the way on a length of 12 km around Ulrichstein there are some very scenic panoramic views. The most beautiful view you have from the Schlossberg directly in Ulrichstein. The Schlossberg is with 614 m the highest point in Ulrichstein and alone worth a visit. From the Schlossberg the trail leads over the flower meadows of the Vogelsberg garden through beautiful hardwood forests and meadow landscapes to the romantic Gründchen in the valley not far from the Schmitt mill. For hikers this day trip is especially in summer a special experience.
